Yellow Cab, City Cab and Checker Cab Companies, members of the Mears Transportation Group, have been dedicated to providing the Central Florida community with quality taxicab transportation service since 1939. It has always been our goal to offer the highest quality service in the transportation industry. As a regulated industry, our meter rates are set by the City of Orlando. On February 11, 2008, the City of Orlando passed an increase in the taxicab meter rates. The last increase in the taxicab meter rates was in March of 2005. The new meter rates have been in effect since the approved change and are as follows:
$ 2.20 for the first 1/4th of a mile, or first 80 seconds of waiting time
$ .55 for each additional 1/4th of a mile or 80 seconds waiting time
$ 1.00 surcharge on all trips from airport
$ 3.85 for the first mile, and $ 2.20 each additional mile
